NORTHUMBRIA UNI classes at Sports Central

A range of 45 min Yoga classes that work ideally as rescue from office/Uni stress and as warm up and cool down before/after other forms of exercise. As classes are short the pace is relatively quick. Breathing and relaxation practices are always included but are obviously short to create a well balanced Yoga class.

NEW Yoga Tuesdays 7 and 8pm, Hardman Centre

7 and 8pm sessions in a group environment. classes are tailored to individual group needs so practices differ week to week according to areas class members feel they need to work on and the level the class is at. The main focus of these sessions is to PROMOTE A RESTFUL SLEEP. There is a focus on strength as well as flexibility practices and integrated movement and breath practices are used each week. please bring own mat and a blanket or warm clothes for relaxation as this helps the body to unwind.
Yogalution is my own trademarked method of yoga instruction, drawing on time honoured practices, some partner work and using autosuggestion and other methods to enhance the relaxation experience.

PAMPER YOGA: Making being pregnant easier.

So many of us now have to work throughout pregnancy and sometimes this means that it is difficult to commit to a long course.

The 3 week block costs £30. Current times are 7pm Monday evenings and 5.45pm Tues eve. I offer Wed eve sessions as and when there is a full group need. pre booking essential as each session is for 4 people only to ensure the highest levels of safety and individual attention.

These sessions are very gentle and are suitable from the moment you know you are pregnant until you decide you no longer need them.

We use exercise balls during each class to work core muscles, ease out aches and pains and to prepare you for using them in early stages of labour as well as focusing a great deal on developing breath work practices to increase your energy levels, improve oxygen supply to your growing baby and to assist you with discomforts and help you to manage stress.

THESE SESSIONS ALLOW YOU TO EXPLORE WHO YOU ARE EMOTIONALLY AND HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR PREGNANCY WEEK BY WEEK. They are a lifeline at a time when life is at one of its most challenging times.


The Lunchtime Yoga Blast, Flexible 1:1 and small group yoga sessions that fit in with you

available by appointment and taught at Calm Yoga Studio. These sessions are proving very popular either as a monthly one to one for individuals or a weekly tailormade session for up to 4 friends or family members.

These sessions are very informal and the ethos is ENJOYMENT WHILST EXERCISING BODY AND CALMING MIND AND BREATH.

Appointments are available for lunchtime slots to give you fruitful time away from work/home. Cost is £40/ hour session.


BABY YOGA Wednesday 10am, Calm Yoga studio, 4a Beaconsfield Rd, Lowfell NE9 5EU

6 week intro courses suitable from 4 weeks old. Block cost £36. Class size limited to 4 adults and 4 babies. These courses run in conjunction with the Yogalution pregnancy yoga classes to provide continuity for Mums to be into motherhood. It is a chance to meet up with some of the other Yogalution Pregnancy yoga group members and explore feelings beyond birth as well as learning ways to ease back into exercise for you and simple methods to promote healthy development in baby.

Having had twins myself. I am comfortable to have multiples as part of these groups. All babies welcome.


PREGNANCY YOGA Mondays 7pm and further timeslot TBA

NEW from 20.2.12, these sessions will replace the 6 and 7pm Tuesday classes due to unavoidable timetabling changes.

These sessions will follow the flexible Pregnancy Yoga session model and will be held at CALM Yoga studio as previous.

Thursdays 10am Story method Yoga for 2 - 3 year olds

Am opportunity to share time with your child/ren in a relaxed environment. Creative sessions to encourage creativity and a love of stories. Movement as well as breathing and relaxation practices to support child/ren development and help you to establish your own Yoga time together at home. Sessions are for 4 children and 4 adults. Twins and more very welcome as are children with specific needs. Held at Calm Yoga Studio.

ASSISTED YOGA, YOGA NIDRA AND ART

Available by appointment. Assisting emotional and physical wellbeing. An ideal way to gain the benefits of Yoga for those unable to acccess an ordinary class either due to illness, frailty or disability. Cost £40/session as for 1:1, cost can be split by up to 4 people attending the same session.

These sessions use some basic Thai yoga massage moves as well as breathing, relaxation and art therapy methods to create a dynamic, diverse and interesting programme that works to improve quality of life.


CHAKRA Yoga n Craft workshop 24th June 2012 2 to 5pm

Sun afternoon workshops regularly from April 2012 combining Yoga with creative craft projects to unblock creativity, free the mind and stretch the body and breath.

Children over 8 years old welcome with an adult. Pre booking essential.
